I recently got to spend 2 days down in the Southern Tablelands of NewSouthWales with work and in one evening, managed to snap all but the very last picture below.

Photography Course Final Presentation

After 8 weeks of Tuesday nights spent in deepest, darkest Redfern - the fruits of my labour, and highly cherished birthday gift from my parents, came tonight's final presentation night. 15-20 pictures of your own choosing, simply to demonstrate what you had learned on the "Digital Photography" course.

I'd selected this particular course for several reasons; the priority was to learn the full manual use of an SLR camera, the level seemed to be right about my height, and the website looked way cooler than the technical college sites... And at 8weeks, it was way likelier to hold my attention span than a year long course.

So without further ado, here are the shots I selected to be shown; which incidentally went up on screen first. I aimed to go from day into night with the play-list, and selected the Doves "Far From Grace" as musical accompaniment.

Well, I hope you like them, there's a few in here I'd sooner have not included, and with an extra week of shooting I'm positive I could've taken a few better shots... but not a bad starting point into the forray of full manual photography I'd say...

I took the following shots within minutes of each other, as I'm just learning about the power of metering shots, I found I got some pretty good varied results.

A remote farm on the South East Coast of New South Wales saw the sunbreaking over the Christmas break. I'm not overly proud of the shot, as I was really hoping to capture the different colours in the sky, these are only partially visible between the Telegraph poles.

Up high in the Nepalese Himalayas, I caught the moon just as the sun started to arrive at about 4-5am. I was bitterly cold in taking this picture, but seeing the result on the camera back gave me an unbelievable amount of renewed Enthusiasm.

My favourite picture of Sydneys most iconic feature, I set out to get a different Tilt on a building that gets hit by shutterbugs hundreds of times every day.

At Ankhor Wat in Cambodia - The worlds largest religeous structure, it was also very difficult to find a shot not teaming with tourists... I think I struck Gold with this one... or at least Orange.

I stumbled over this the other night, started playing with the effects, and decided I really liked this view of the Golden Gate bridge, as it may have looked when photographed 100years ago! Even though monotone, the bridge still kinda looks Red.

So I thought it about time I put some photo's on here, right now, they're in no particular order - but I'm sure as I start taking more through the year you'll see my latest favourites...

Fire Twirling, Koh Phangan, Thailand 2006. One of a few pictures Itook during my time lazing on the beach recovering from the motorcycle mishap - love those night time fire effects and the glow of the dude in the middle:

One of my better under water attempts came after my first days diving on Koh Nangyuan, Thailand - where I managed to catdch this trio of Inquisitive Fishy's:

The dawn of a new day in Malaysia gradually lit up the huge Petronas Towers (the twin buildings that held the mantle of tallest "building in the world" for a while before the structure in Taipei grew bigger in construction). Standing so close you couldn't get any sort of appreciation fot the overall shape of the building - but I love the random looking angles with the Malay Sun hitting it:
